Marcia was the key to my recovery after my accident. She has been working with me through my struggles to get my like back. She has increased my activities as my health has improved, not pushing to much, just enough. She came up with a plan from the beginning and has guided me through my ups and downs on my recovery path.
If someone had told me five years ago that my chronic back pain or numb right leg was not permanent damage, and then said it could be reversed after one visit with Marcia Kirby I'd have laughed and bet $500 they were dead wrong. Nonetheless, Marcia's skill with the technique called IMS (inter muscle stimulation) does in fact work miracles. When a joint gets injured (or traumatized by surgery,) our body surrounds it with a long-term ridged muscle spasm to hold everything in place so no further damage occurs. However, once the original injury is healed that same protective spasm often remains. Incapable of realeasing itself the spasm intensifies the pain and we assume this means the original injury didn't heal properly. IMS sticks an accupunture needle into the middle of the chronic spasm and causes it to rapidly contract & release multiple times per second, (which sometimes hurts during the treatment and we try not to curse Marcia out loud, haha.) When she's done, that super-tight muscle becomes a bowl of Jello and our long-term suffering is simply gone. BOOM! GONE! Thank you Marcia, Thank You.
A gem! Grant is passionate about finding solutions and will take the time to go over exercises and really listen to make sure you’re receiving the care you need. He has so much knowledge and is constantly working on his own practice to refine his skills and offer the best rehab methods. He is so friendly and kind, he holds space for you as a patient to feel seen and heard and cheers you on throughout your physio journey and it is evident that through his own experiences he knows the importance of feeling your very best and getting your body back to its optimal state. I felt better after just a few treatments and can’t say enough good things about my physio sessions with Grant. Thank you Grant!
The clinic is very accessible and booking can be done online. I have been seeing Moraine for about 4 years for various issues. I developed MS in that time and have come to rely on Moraine as a valuable member of the medical "team" that keeps me mobile. She has provided massage, stretching, exercises, recommendations for height and style of mobility aids, and most importantly gentle encouragement and support. I would not want to be without her.
Marcia has been amazing to work with! It helps that she is an athlete herself, but it still willing to figure out the cause of aches and pains beyond her own sports. She has always been positive with me, never had me stop what I'm doing, and has been very encouraging and motivating for pursuing athletic endeavours. Marcia is great for treating specific pain as well as maintenance and prevention. She's very knowledgeable when it comes to mobility and it's great to know that she is constantly pushing herself to take more courses and increase her knowledge and treatment abilities!
